How to Sing Better in 2022: 30-day course and Practice Guide!

If improving your singing is on your list of New Year’s Resolutions, today’s video is most definitely for you!

Today I’m introducing a series that will begin on January 1, 2022. Every day for the month of January, I’ll be posting a short exercise to build the fundamentals of better singing for the the coming year and years ahead.

These videos will each be less than a minute long each, but cumulatively, they’ll help you build the Foundations of Singing – and that’s the name of the series.

Check out the video!

In the series, we’ll cover:

  • Building an engaged out/released in breath cycle for strong, free breath support.
  • Creating the vowels simply and correctly for efficiency and clarity.
  • Placing the voice high and forward for a resonant, bright tone.
  • Maximizing activity in the upper half of the mouth to minimize tension in the tongue, jaw, and throat.
  • Aligned, dynamic posture to allow the body to work with maximum efficiency.

Whether you’re a total beginner or a seasoned professional, you’ll find clear (fun) ideas for moving your singing toward greater efficiency, strength, beauty, so singing can be even more fun.

Be sure to subscribe to the channel and ring the notification bell so you’ll get a reminder each time a new video posts, and I’ll see you on January 1st!

Today, though, I want to give you some guidance on how to turn exercises like these into a bespoke vocalizing regimen for yourself. So let’s talk through the 6 elements of a great warm-up. As you find exercises that really create meaningful change for you in rehearsals or on my channel, I want you to earmark them – write them down or record a quick video of yourself doing them. Then, you can slot them into the practice matrix I’ll talk you through:

  1. Energy Management
  2. Posture
  3. Breath
  4. Breath into voice
  5. Automatic resonance
  6. Skill Building

I’ve created a free PDF to guide you through this exact process – you can snag it over here.
