JAW tension from MASKED Singing? Try this.

Hi singers! Is anyone else feeling like your jaws are clamped shut after years of singing with a mask?

I get it!

Here’s an exercise to help you open back up in the right way. It’s super simple.

  1. Open the mouth like you’re saying “aaaahh.”
  2. Put your index fingers against your cheeks and push the fingertips in to feel the space between the molars
  3. If your tongue has snuck backward, slide it forward again so the tip of the tongue is against the back of the bottom teeth.
  4. Take a breath and sigh on “aaaaaahhhh,” or sing a scale on “ee-eh-ah-oh-oo.”

And thanks for practicing!
