Hi singers! Is anyone else feeling like your jaws are clamped shut after years of singing with a mask?
I get it!
Here’s an exercise to help you open back up in the right way. It’s super simple.
- Open the mouth like you’re saying “aaaahh.”
- Put your index fingers against your cheeks and push the fingertips in to feel the space between the molars
- If your tongue has snuck backward, slide it forward again so the tip of the tongue is against the back of the bottom teeth.
- Take a breath and sigh on “aaaaaahhhh,” or sing a scale on “ee-eh-ah-oh-oo.”

And thanks for practicing!
