Whew! The last few weeks have really taken it out of me. With more in-person singing returning and the onset of spring allergies, my voice feels pretty shredded. Today’s gentle, restorative warm-up routine restored a little bit of healthy functionality for the practicing I wanted to do, and also the speaking I needed to do for the remainder of the day.

Of course, there are days when you should just give it a rest. But if you’re feeling a little crummy but still ok enough to attend three Zoom meetings, a vocal warm-up is the best thing you can do for yourself. After I finished recording today’s video, I went on to a great practice session on some very challenging repertoire and, best of all, less raspiness the next morning.
